This week starts quietly, with the calendar building quickly into Tuesday and Wednesday. Consumer Confidence and New Home Sales on Tuesday will offer a fresh read on household demand and housing activity, while earnings from Dick’s Sporting Goods and Intuit provide additional insight into consumer and business spending.

Wednesday is the key day for markets. Core PCE will be closely watched for inflation trends, while the first revision to GDP will refine the picture of second-quarter growth. Nvidia headlines a major technology earnings slate alongside Salesforce, CrowdStrike and HP, making the session especially important for assessing AI demand, enterprise spending and broader technology leadership.

Thursday brings preliminary Wholesale Inventories and another group of corporate results, including Autodesk, Marvell, Ulta and Workday. The week closes Friday with Chicago PMI and final Michigan Consumer Sentiment, giving investors additional signals on manufacturing conditions and the consumer outlook heading into September.
