Markets will turn their attention to inflation data next week after a stronger-than-expected May jobs report pushed Treasury yields higher and reinforced concerns that the Fed may need to stay restrictive. CPI on Wednesday and PPI on Thursday will be the key macro releases, while weekly jobless claims and preliminary Michigan Consumer Sentiment will offer additional insight into the labor market and household inflation expectations.
The earnings calendar is relatively light, but several high-profile reports could still shape sentiment. Oracle will be closely watched for commentary on AI-related spending and capital investment, while Adobe and Lennar may provide updates on enterprise software demand and housing conditions.
Corporate activity will also remain in focus, with Apple’s WWDC keynote expected to draw attention to its AI strategy. Meanwhile, SpaceX’s anticipated IPO could test investor appetite for large new equity issuance.-Matt Shaw, CFALike this update?
